Excavation blog by Fiona Child
We spent our final day on site finishing up some section drawings and then back-filling the trenches. The last week and a half of excavating has been an amazing learning experience for all of us, even if we didn’t find as much as we had hoped to. We were able to interact and discuss our plans with the public, gain practical excavation skills, and fine-tune our archaeological drawing techniques. We want to say a huge thank you to AOC, CFA, Historic Environment Scotland and the University of Edinburgh for this opportunity, and especially our supervisors Harry, Ian, Gemma and Jamie. It is safe to say we all really dig archaeology!
